Marriage of vanity and lust

She married herself, you see.

Not intentionally,
but
she did it, nonetheless.

A kiss to the mirror was her vow,
a jewel of blood, the ring.
A drink from the glass, her toast.
And she wanted what she wanted,
got what she got.

Her shadow was the procession,
her tears, the handmaidens,
flowergirls,
father.

All eyes on her with her eyes closed.
And she told herself,
"I do."

Sketchbook assignment: cutout. I took a ruby from a National Geographic magazine, glued it on the page, and DREWWW. This picture took NINETEEN SCANS OMFG--it's actually about 60 by 40 cm, spanning the entirety of two sketchbook pages. Yes, it's a busy picture. Yes, it doesn't make coherent sense. Yes, the composition and anatomy is off. But I rather like this one. Pardon the strange look in the middle; I did my best to remove the sketchbook binding from the final digital image. X_X

Up to interpretation. We had to make this sort of an illustration as a part of a storyline. So what do you think it is?
