Sort of surreal?
This is the cover page to my portfolio for Careers. Taken straight off my Title Page reflection:
"…Apparently my inner self has very long hair.
The colour-splash wing on a monochrome picture symbolizes my own individuality; everybody has different talents and creativity despite the fact that humans resemble one another. The shadow underneath the girl’s feet show variant moods that define me, even ones I keep locked up, hence being under her feet. The fragmented, less-colourful wing shows that I am young, and I’m still trying to figure out who I am, as I’m trying to grow another wing of personality.
She’s wearing a dress because I prefer dresses and skirts over pants. Ahah.
The stars and moons and things hanging from the top of the page shows my interest in astrology, and my fascination with various interpretations of art. The negative space around the girl shows both loneliness and opportunity, and the blurred letters asking “Who am I” symbolizes how hard it is to grasp the meaning of that question.
The red bead hanging from the girl’s hair is a personal symbol of life; I love the colour red because of both its power and it’s gentleness. I’m a visual and intrapersonal kid, and it’s shown in my title page."
A doodle turned into homework with deep meanings slapped on for academic reasons. I hope I get a good mark on this project :/ -- Edit: I did. 29.5 out of 30; .5 was lost on a missing page LOL.
Prismacolour pencilcrayons, pencil, and a whole heck of a lot of homework.
I don't want to be anybody
but myself.
So, I shaved little lines
in my head and
dyed my hair purple
and green
(with just a hint of orange)
and pierced my nose and
hung a gold earring in it,
AS AN EXPRESSION OF WHO I AM
(who am I?).
Of course,
I waited till someone else did it first.
I didn't want anyone to think I'm
weird.
You know what I mean?
